What does the Bible say about angels?
Angels appear throughout Scripture as messengers and servants of God, powerful but never to be worshipped.
What Scripture says
Hebrews 1:14
“Aren’t they all serving spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?”
Psalm 91:11
“For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.”
Luke 2:9-14
“Behold, an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. The angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all the people. For there is born to you today, in David’s city, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. This is the sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth, lying in a feeding trough.” Suddenly, there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, on earth peace, good will toward men.””
Colossians 2:18
“Let no one rob you of your prize by self-abasement and worshiping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,”
