What does the Bible say about the baptism of the Holy Spirit?
Scripture speaks of being filled with the Spirit and baptised in Him. Traditions differ on the timing, and agree the Spirit is given by God, not earned.
What Scripture says
Acts 1:5
“For John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days from now.””
Acts 2:4
“They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.”
Ephesians 5:18
“Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,”
1 Corinthians 12:13
“For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all given to drink into one Spirit.”
