What does the Bible say about singing to God?
Scripture commands a new song again and again, in gathered worship and in private prayer alike.

Psalm 96:1-2
“Sing to the LORD a new song! Sing to the LORD, all the earth. Sing to the LORD! Bless his name! Proclaim his salvation from day to day!”
Ephesians 5:19
“speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;”
Colossians 3:16
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.”
Acts 16:25
“But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.”
