Living and character
What does the Bible say about humility?
Humility in Scripture is not thinking badly of yourself. It is thinking of yourself less, and of others more, as Jesus did.
What Scripture says
Philippians 2:3-4
“doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself; each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.”
Micah 6:8
“He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does the LORD require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?”
James 4:10
“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you.”
Proverbs 22:4
“The result of humility and the fear of the LORD is wealth, honor, and life.”
